The Two Types of Acoustic Guitar

Wednesday, September 14th, 2011

Best acoustic guitar for a person to buy really depends upon what level of skill you have. There are different levels of quality in guitars for each level of student. If you are just starting out with the acoustic guitar you need to decide what type of music you will be learning. There are two basic types of guitars. One is a guitar than has nylon strings and is used to play classic music. The other will have steel strings and is used to play a variety of music. The one obvious different that any newbie to guitar playing will see is that the standard acoustic guitar has what is called a pick guard. This is a large piece of material at the bottom of the center hole, underneath the strings. This material protects the guitar from being struck by the guitar pick when it is played. An classical guitar has no guard because picks are not used when playing them.

On Stage at the Wilbur Theatre Boston

Tuesday, August 30th, 2011

I wanted to give a quick insight into what goes into a production at the wilbur theatre boston. It’s a high pressure job with little room for error but at the end of the evening you really get a good feeling. Especially when the audience leaves happy. Getting make-up done is among the first steps for getting into character. It gives you time to practice your lines and really get a feel for the type of person you’ll be playing. The costume really helps complete the effect, especially if it’s something grand and it fits the part well. After that it’s simply a question of making the play a part of your personality and getting properly involved in teh situation being portrayed. Getting on stage is simply the last step. Unfortunately, although it’s small it’s also among the most difficult. Making the audience believe you are who you say you are is always going to be difficult.

For New Friends

Thursday, June 9th, 2011

I have recently moved to a new city and joined a new school. I was very worried initially because I did not know if I would have new friends. I had left all my old friends and was still upset about it. But the minute I sat down in class, a girl asked me for a pencil and we started talking immediately. I can’t believe how easy it was to make friends. It took me just a few days to get to know almost everyone in my class. I have my own group of friends now and it is bigger than the group I had before. I love spending time with them. I have invited them to come over for a slumber party at my place this Friday. I am very excited about it. I decided we would have a karaoke party. I asked my sister to help me find song lyrics and she found an excellent site for me.

Beat Making for Newcomers

Monday, April 25th, 2011

For a newcomer, who is good in a particular trade, the time at which he decided to turn professional is very important. For example, if your son is a football prodigy, rushing him too soon into professional football may ruin his career. If you decide o wait for too long, his talents may not come out as much as they should. The introduction should be made at a perfect time. The definition of perfect time is dependent on how fast he learns and when he is mentally prepared for the big event. Similarly if you are interested in beat making, you should think of doing professional work only after you have learned everything about the trade. Making beats is not an easy task and the best beats are made by people who know their bear maker software and its different features. Take some time to learn more and make professional music only after that.

Freestyle Rap Skills – Learn How to Rap

Wednesday, January 26th, 2011

Hip hop is a culture. A culture steeped in the verbal tradition. If – for any reason – a rapper (known as an emcee or MC) disagrees with another MC, there is only one way to settle it: a freestyle battle.

A freestyle rap battle consists of two or more emcees who come up with amusing insults about the other in the hopes of winning the battle.

Scheduled battles are often for money – up to $5,000 goes to the winner – while battles on the street are for pride. A freestyle battle rap may last up to several minutes. If one MC obviously wins the rap battle it’s known as a “murder”.

Some of the best battle rappers are able to mix a top-notch delivery – known as flow – with cunningly sharp lyrics in their raps. The combination of wit and musicality are huge when it comes to winning a rap battle.

There are many popular locations for rap battles, including Scribble Jam, which is perhaps the most popular in the rap circuit. The World Rap Championship has grown in appeal over the past several years. Illmaculate and TheSaurus won the World Rap Championship two years in a row and are considered some of the best freestyle rappers in the game today. If you would like to learn how to rap there are a number of ways to practice.

First, try building your vocabulary using a dictionary and thesaurus. Obviously, the more words you know, the more you can use in a freestyle battle.

Rappers are know for their vocal style as much as their lyrics. Grab a few books on vocal technique in order to strengthen your voice.

Lastly, try to copy the biggest rappers in the game (or at least your favorites). By copying your favorite rappers vocals, pace and lyrics, you can cut down the learning curve significantly.

Go Cross Country in Style

Wednesday, November 24th, 2010

A sleeper bus has also been referred to a nightliner, sleeper coach, and tour and crew bus. These specially designed coaches offer passengers bunks for sleep during extended or overnight trips between cities or engagements. Although a full-sized coach is used, maximum capacity is generally 18 passengers. Most often used by bands, technicians and the crew, a sleeper bus may also be utilized by sports fans and teams.

They are generally also equipped with a complete kitchen, bathroom facilities, a lounging area and, for passenger comfort, usually have specialty items such as DVD players and large screen televisions. The bus exteriors are often colorfully decorated, have blackout windows and carry a price tag of more than 600,000 dollars. In European countries these buses are often used as a mode of travel between distance cities and in poorer regions of the world they are considered viable alternatives to traveling by train or plane.

Advantages of Portable PA System

Tuesday, September 7th, 2010

Portable PA systems are available in various types, sizes and capacities. The input device, the processing unit that is normally an amplifier and the output unit that is a loud speaker are matched with each other to get optimum results.

There are many advantages in using a PA system. First of all the deliverer need not spend his energy to make his sound reach the far end for even his whispers can be converted into loud sound by this. Thus by saving the energy it is easy to sustain for a longer time.

The quality of the sound can be tuned to the requirement. When a speaker squeaks with his shrill voice bass can be increased to make the hearing little more pleasant. Distortions are eliminated by suitable adjustments. There are specific adjustments for speakers and for musicians as they sing. When instruments are played, there are special tuning methods.

Modern pa systems are well advanced having various options at different prices. Costlier the system clearer will be the voice output. More powerful systems will have many options to connect input devices as well as speakers that can be stretched to longer distances to make them more audible. A suitable PA system will satisfy the need appropriately.

Ibanez Rg370dxl — What Makes It Different From The Rg370dx?

Thursday, July 8th, 2010

If you are used to or aware of the RG370DXL you’ll wonder what the difference would be in Ibanez RG370DXL. Well, the difference is that one is the mirror image of the other. Other than that, you get the same stuff — Only designed to mirror the other in looks and appearance.

The first one is for right handed players while the second is for left handed players. But if you talk about the tone, components, feel, action and much more, they are exactly the same. Much like two different guitars of an exact model.

So why go to such lengths to design another guitar that just gives the same feel, tones and all of an already existing guitar? I will say that’s NOT the right question. The right question would be: Why should a left-handed player have a guitar that helps him or her get the very best out of him/herself? If you were to be a left-handed guitarist you’ll appreciate Ibanez’s thoughtfulness — It’s definitely very much welcome!

Make your own Music Flashcards

Friday, April 23rd, 2010

Music Flashcards are an excellent tool for any music teacher to have. You really don’t have to spend much money on flashcards – they are very easy to make. All you need is a laminator, which used to be something that was out of reach for many people, as they cost hundreds of dollars. However now with the big stationary “super stores” you can get a simple A4 laminator for between $20 and $40 in most cases. If you’ve got a laminator you don’t even need any heavy card stock: you can just print it out on standard paper and laminate the cards. All you then need is the artwork for the cards, and the Ultimate Flashcard set from the fun music company does provide everything you need – you can choose from a whole range of pitch cards in both treble and bass clefs, rhythm cards, time signature cards and italian terms.
